The Trust started its journey into education in the year 1981, by beginning a school in the founder's native village. TJMHSS, the then trust branched out into colleges & main schools. Our Founder Late Shri V L Balakrishna Naidu, who was a man of great values, started the college with the aim of empowering the youth and also to work towards excellence. The mission of the college is established through the continuous commitment in educating young graduates in the field of Arts and Science. A proficient industrialist and philanthropist, late Shri V.L. Balakrishna Naidu established the VLB Trust with the strong belief of educating the youth to develop the nation. His vision of eradicating illiteracy is the beacon light of our foundation.
Established in the year 1980 by the late Shri V. L. Balakrishna Naidu, the trust started off by beginning a school in the founder's native village. Shri Naidu was a strong advocate of educating the youth, especially he worked for the development of the Nation. In time, the trust's good work scaled up to include many more schools and then colleges.

Thus was born PSG College of Arts and Science in the year 1947 to the PSG & Sons Charities Trust which was founded in the year 1926 by the four praise-worthy sons of P.S. Govindasamy Naidu, the four brothers of the PSG family, Thiru PSG Venkataswamy Naidu, Thiru PSG Rangaswamy Naidu, Thiru PSG Ganga Naidu and Thiru PSG Narayanaswamy Naidu who took "Charity through Education" with great missionary zeal.
The college has been accredited at the FIVE STAR level by NAAC and became an ISO 9001: 1994 certified institution in 2001 and subsequently an ISO 9001: 2000 certified institution since 2003. In the second NAAC Accreditation the college secured A+ in 2007. In Feb 2014 the college was Re-Accredited with A Grade by NAAC(3rd Cycle).

COIMBATORE, the fast growing industrial hub of Kongunadu had the need for more colleges during the 70s, and this demand was fulfilled on 12th August 1973, the day on which Kongunadu Arts and Science College came into existence.
The College is ideally located in serene and rural surroundings not far from the city. It is conveniently connected with all parts of the city through frequent town buses plying from various destinations. Started in the year 1973 with a humble beginning, the college has grown magnificently in academic stature with autonomous status having 12 Research Departments, 14 PG Departments and 20 UG Departments. The college is imparting higher education to approximately 4000 students, majority of whom hail from socially and economically weaker sections of the society. More than 50% of the students studying in the college are girls and thus the college is playing a pivotal role in women empowerment and social justice.
